Dog Walking at Yellow Welly Dog Club
We don’t just take your dog for a walk. We offer enriching, small group explorations of around one hour in the local countryside. Your dog is matched to the dynamics and abilities of our groups, so that their walk can be tailored to their needs.
Walks are planned to visit a variety of environments to promote natural exploratory behaviour and engage in sensory experiences. We take our time so that all needs are catered for and we allow for a cool down period at the end so dogs return home in a calm and relaxed state.
We carry towels and water on board and transport your dog in our ventilated and crated van. Nervous dogs can be transported up front in a dog seat belt, if required.
Enrichment at Yellow Welly Dog Club
We believe that species appropriate enrichment is essential for dogs as it enables them to express their natural behaviour. Enrichment reduces stress, and promotes calmness and relaxation, and it can even assist in slowing down cognitive decline.
At Yellow Welly Dog Club, we are excited to offer the following enrichment activities:
Sensory Walks – Small group walks of around one hour in the local countryside. Your dog is exposed to environmental complexity that encourages exploratory behaviour such as sniffing, climbing, seeking, rolling, and digging. We take our time - no dog is ever rushed. Sometimes we just sit and watch and listen.
Cognitive Enrichment – 30 minutes of mentally stimulating activities, including scent and seeking, which encourage your dog to try new things, solve problems, and express natural behaviours. Can be conducted as a 1:1 with you and your dog or as a 1:1 with me.
Trick Training – Strengthen your bond with your dog with 30 minutes of fun and games as we discover your dog’s hidden talents. Conducted as a 1:1 with you and your dog.
House Sitting at Yellow Welly Dog Club
While you head off on your vacation why not give your pets a staycation?
When you book Yellow Welly for your house sit, we literally move into your home or annex and become your dog’s companion and best friend for the whole time you’re away.
Best of all, as well as unlimited cuddles, they get access to our whole package of awesome activities from daily walks to afternoon enrichment sessions and games in the garden. We’ll even follow your training programme.
Walk -Think - Play - Depending on your dog’s physical and emotional requirements, they will be invited to join our regular and sensory walks. We will also devise an appropriate enrichment programme for them, so you can ensure that all their physical and mental needs are met while you holiday away.
Rest – We believe that rest and relaxation are important for their physical and mental health and we encourage our sittees to settle down for regular naps as well as getting a good night sleep so they are fresh and ready for their daytime adventures.
Security – As well as offering your pets love and companionship in their own home, you’ll also have the peace of mind that your home is being kept safe and secure and in good running order while you’re away.
