Hi, I’m Jane, the wellies behind Yellow Welly Dog Club. Thank you for dropping by.

After a career in science, education, and human behaviour, I took a career break. During this time, I was lucky enough to indulge my lifelong love of dogs. I’d always been fascinated by their behaviour, and that curiosity led me to begin studying with the IMDT – the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers.

What started as the first steps toward becoming a canine behaviourist has evolved into a path that felt more intuitive - I’m now a fully qualified and accredited trainer specialising in high drive dogs.

I am still on my learning journey and feel invredibly fortunate that my desire to work with dogs came sooner than I expected, when, by chance, I started my dog-walking business.

Since then, Yellow Welly Dog Club has grown organically from walking one dog as a hobby, to a small yet mighty training, walking and enrichment community, powered by the recommendations of my wonderful clients and my fellow dog professionals, for which I am truly grateful.

I strongly believe that all dogs are doing their very best with the tools we give them. And it is this belief that underpins everything I do at Yellow Welly Dog Club.

My work is designed with individual personalities and needs in mind.

My training sessions are structured to feel safe, kind, and positive for both dogs and their humans. I use positive, emotionally intelligent methods that build trust, confidence and connection between dogs and their humans.

Our walks are structured for the dynamics of individuals and enable self expression. I allow plenty of time for play, exploration, and mental challenge. And I put a lot of effort into building caring relationships with my dogs, ensuring I understand how they feel, so that both introverts and extroverts feel nurtured and safe.

Enrichment sessions are tailored to the innate drives, hobbies, and interests of individual dogs. They can be conducted as one-to-ones with clients, or alone with me. Clients have found my one-to-one sessions invaluable during times of injury, for example, or in just helping them to build a stronger, more mutually enriching bond with their dog.

As well as being an IMDT trainer, I have been assessed and certified by the IMDT as a professional dog walker for my standards of care, welfare, and professional practices, and I hold a current canine first aid certificate, full professional business insurance with Protectivity, and I’m DBS checked.
